Top Ten Ways To Celebrate National Employee Benefits Day
Celebrate the completion of your SAS 70 audit with a new vanity plate for your car:
"I'm SAS-y."
Create an annual Salary and Benefits Summary for each of your children. Include food, their percentage of the mortgage, college fund contributions and paid time off for the days you used vacation time because they were off of school.
In an effort to better understand your participants' motives in their health choices, follow them everywhere they go for a long holiday weekend and ask, "Oh, you're going to eat that?" after every questionable bite.
Demonstrate your decision-making abilities by choosing a more suitable first name the next time you need to add a new dependent to the system.
Protect yourself from fiduciary-based law suits by donning some really baggy trousers and saying, "Can't touch this," followed by the MC Hammer dance.
Introduce your new on-site workout facility after purchasing a Wii for employee use. (Bought on e-Bay during company time with your health care budget, of course.)
Next time a young plan participant says "It can't happen to me" when discussing disability insurance, give them a sharp swing to their knee caps with your 7-iron. Gently tell them, "Oh yes it can."
Show some pride for your designation. Get a CEBS tattoo. Didn't earn it yet? How about "Mean, lean benefits machine."
Invite your non-participating defined contribution eligible participants to a brown-bag lunch seminar on the wonders of compounding interest. When they doze off, shout, "YOU JUST DON'T GET IT, DO YOU?"
Go green. Recycle last year's memo about the health insurance premium increase.
