International Foundation Awards Excellence in Apprenticeship Training Award
Brookfield, Wis.—The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans presented four Excellence in Apprenticeship Training Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The four individuals were recognized for their hard work, creativity and dedication to sustaining a premier workforce. The awards recognized excellence in apprenticeship training and retention.
A Best Practice Award in the Area of Apprenticeship Instructor Training was awarded to:
- Richard O’Connor, Training Director and Coordinator, Plumbers’ Joint Apprenticeship Committee, Local 130, United Association, Chicago, Illinois.
Three Best Practice Awards in the Area of Apprenticeship Retention were awarded. The recipients were:
- Mark Gonzalez, Director, Northern California Cement Masons Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, Pleasanton, California.
- Jack Hettwer, Coordinator, Minneapolis Plumbers Joint Journeyman and Apprentice Training Committee, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Douglas R. Lid, Coordinator, Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Apprentice and Training Program, Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
