Brookfield, Wis.—The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans is proud to award Ewart “Odie” O’Hara with the Canadian Lifetime Volunteer Award.
Mr. O’Hara has been influential in the Canadian employee benefits community for the past several decades. He has been a speaker, moderator and committee member for the International Foundation since 1979.
“Odie played an instrumental part in establishing the International Foundation’s Canadian roots. Throughout the years his continued involvement in the Foundation has established him as a leader in the benefits community,” said Bernard Christophe, Chair of the International Foundation Canadian Board.
The award recipient was chosen based on criteria including length of service, professional designations, other academic achievements, overall body of volunteer work and contributions to the Canadian benefit industry. Candidates can include current or past International Foundation Canadian Board members, committee members, speakers, moderators, panelists, authors or other Foundation members.
This is the first year the Foundation has presented this annual award. The award was presented at the 40th Annual Canadian Employee Benefits Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
