Today, the Wharton School is one of the preeminent schools of management in the world and is widely regarded as the leader in preparing students to succeed in a globally competitive business environment.

The joint sponsorship of the CEBS program with the International Foundation is a natural extension of the Wharton School 's long interest in adult education. The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania , the world's first collegiate school of management, was founded in 1881 by Philadelphia industrialist and philanthropist Joseph Wharton.

The school is committed to advancing the knowledge and understanding of global business and management issues. Through its curriculum, research, faculty and student activities, and its affiliations with other institutions, corporations and alumni, the Wharton School is dedicated to making an impact on the practice of management worldwide.

Wharton offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees, as well as executive education programs. The school has 11 academic departments and units, 21 research centers and three specialized education programs. With a full-time faculty of 198, it currently enrolls about 2,370 undergraduate students, 1,700 M.B.A. candidates, 380 executive M.B.A. candidates, 210 Ph.D. candidates and 375 evening students-a total student body of approximately 5,035.
