Following is a summary of recent course corrections required for the U.S. CEBS courses.

Below are corrections to the designated Courses and updates referencing the section(s) of the courses most impacted by the changes.
GBA 2 Group Benefits Management
1. Assignment 1: Learning Guide, page 1.2. The textbook assigned reading page excerpt of 381-393 is from Chapter 14, not Chapter 15.
2. PPACA’s Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Program Halted
The CLASS program was established to develop better long-term care insurance options for Americans; the Department of Health and Human Services announced in October 2011 that the program would not be implemented due to concerns over its viability.

GBA 3 Health Care: Financing, Quality and Reform
1. Assignment 1: Learning Guide, page 1.46; Learning Guide, Question 12(a), page 1.19. The adult child coverage provision under health care reform requires coverage until age 26 and not through age 26 as stated in the reading under Insurance Market Reforms.
2. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s (PPACA’s) Employee Voucher Provision Repealed
Repealed in April 2011 was the provision that employers, starting in 2014, provide free choice vouchers to low-income employees toward the purchase of health insurance through a state exchange.

4. Group Health Plans May Change Insurers Without Losing Grandfathered Status
New amended rules regarding the loss of grandfathered status provide that an insured group health plan does not lose its “grandfathered” status merely by changing issuers or insurance contracts as long as the plan does not otherwise violate the previous regulatory requirements issued on June 2010.
