Must I apply for the exam when registering for an online class? Can I apply for the exam later? You must apply for the corresponding examination (or have previously done so) when registering for an online class. Your online class registration will not be processed without having the corresponding exam application on file. You may submit both registrations concurrently, along with payment.I have never taken an online course before. How does it work?CEBS online courses are offered completely through the internet in an asynchronous format. This means you have access to your class seven days a week, 24 hours a day, (including holidays) for entire 13-week duration of the class.
Instructors post weekly lecture notes that correspond with the readings in your study materials. Periodic practice quizzes and additional resource materials are also provided. The discussion board and chat feature provide a high level of interaction between the instructor and students and are a key component to online study.
What are the advantages of taking an online course? Most of our students cite flexibility as the greatest advantage to taking an online course. You don't need to worry about being “online” at a specific time or day. Assignments are presented weekly providing structure over the 13-week period.
Students have access to some of the top CEBS instructors in the country who are available to answer questions on difficult concepts. According to Cindy Holmes, a CEBS student taking her fifth online class, “The most noticeable assets of the online courses are the instructor lecture notes and sample quizzes.”
Online Learning also provides opportunities for students to network with other professionals in the class and gain from their experience. This interactivity is accomplished by using the threaded discussion feature within the class.
How do I know that an online course is for me?If you are comfortable working independently and have good organizational skills, you may find online learning to be a rewarding and satisfying experience. Be willing to commit three to five hours of study time per week.
Do I need special technical skills to access an online course? We recommend that students taking an online course have a good comfort level using a computer and navigating the internet. Common skills when taking an online course include using e-mail and downloading files from the internet.
