Mr. Barlament is a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP practicing primarily in employee benefits law. He represents employers, third party administrators, brokers, and benefit consultants in all aspects of employee benefits law. Mr. Barlament has extensive experience in a broad range of issues, including: HIPAA, including the Privacy Rules and Security Rules, COBRA, consumer-driven health plans (HRAs and HSAs), and addressing the legal issues with controlling health care costs (such as wellness plan issues). He is recognized as a national speaker and is a contributing author to two leading manuals, Consumer-Driven Health Care and HIPAA Portability, Privacy, and Security. Mr. Barlament also has experience in e-commerce law, with a particular emphasis on privacy-related issues. He graduated from St. Norbert College (summa cum laude) and Duke University School of Law.
