Communications and the Affordable Care Act—It's All About Communicating Change

Since March 2010, we’ve all been working hard to understand and implement the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka “Health Care Reform.” For many organizations—public, private, multiemployer—the challenges have come in recognizing what messages and issues (besides those the government identified as mandatory) we needed to communicate to our stakeholders—participants, employees and employers.

Rather than consider the PPACA as an intrusion into our benefits communication strategies, the most successful organizations have embraced the new and unique provisions of PPACA as just another opportunity to communicate change. Like ERISA and HIPAA before it, this legislation has generated its share of controversy and required   everyone to explore new ways of dealing with it. This webcast will look at:

  • The similarities between communicating PPACA and other revolutionary health care initiatives
  • The major issues that are major messages
  • What successful organizations have done to introduce, explain and educate their stakeholders
  • What your plans should be for tomorrow
  • What future challenges we face with the continuing implementation of the PPACA

Join us as we examine some valuable lessons learned, discuss key messages and innovative strategies for the future, and share the results of IFEBP’s 2014 Employer-Sponsored Health Care: ACA’s Impact Survey.
