OSFI Canada Makes 2012 Solvency Information Return Available

The 2012 Solvency Information Return (SIR) is now available. The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) requests that pension plans registered under the Pension Benefits Standards Act, 1985 (PBSA) provide OSFI with early information on contribution holidays and annual rates of return for the fiscal year ending between October 1, 2011, and September 30, 2012. The informational form is due on the later of 45 days after the plan year-end or February 15, 2012. Instructions can be found in a memo to Pension Administrators from the OSFI.
