CCIIO Provides Fact Sheets on NMHPA and WHCRA

The Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) updated two fact sheets on women's issues. The Newborns’ and Mothers’ Health Protection Act (NMHPA) is a federal law that affects the length of time a mother and newborn child are covered for a hospital stay in connection with childbirth. The Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 (WHCRA) is a federal law that provides protections to patients who choose to have breast reconstruction in connection with a mastectomy.
