The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), Office of the Chief Actuary released Actuarial Study #10, measuring the financial sustainability of the Canada Pension Plan (CPP).The study concludes the actuarial obligations of the CPP should be measured by using an approach that reflects the partially funded nature of the Plan. Chief Actuary Jean-Claude Menard said that based on future contributions and associated benefits, the actuarial balance sheet confirms the CPP will continue to meet its financial obligations and is sustainable over the long term.
