The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. (PBGC) has issued Technical Update 11-1, which extends for 2012 plan years the reportable events guidance provided in Technical Update 10-4.
The guidance focuses on compliance with the reportable events requirements of ERISA section 4043 and PBGC’s regulation on Reportable Events and Certain Other Notification Requirements (29 CFR part 4043), and addresses two topics:
- Funding-related determinations for purposes of waivers, extensions, and the advance reporting threshold test, and
- Missed quarterly contributions.
