Bush Signs Law Extending Unemployment Benefits
On June 30, 2008, President Bush signed into
law
a bill that extends unemployment insurance benefits. The provision, as Title IV of the War Supplemental Appropriations Act (HR 2642, PL 110-252), provides up to 13 weeks of extended unemployment benefits in every state to workers exhausting the 26 weeks of regular unemployment benefits. The extended benefits program ends March 31, 2009.
