H1N1 Flu Resources

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 177 countries and territories have seen confirmed cases of pandemic influenza H1N1. Organizations such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UNICEF and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) are partnering with WHO to support governments and communities to reduce the pandemic's impact.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is continuing to monitor influenza disease activity in the United States and to take aggressive action to respond to the outbreak. CDC’s response goals are to reduce the spread and severity of illness, and to provide information to help health care providers, public health officials and the public address the challenges posed by this public health threat.

Likewise, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has stated that public health authorities are continually assessing the public health response to the outbreak of the H1N1 flu virus.
