As a product development manager you will help provide recommendations and lead implementation of enhancements and/or development of new products and services for GuideStone’s insurance health and welfare line of business. Working closely with a cross functional team including sales, actuarial, group underwriting, and operations and other key stakeholders you will help identify product requirements, execute on the product vision/strategy, and help manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle. You will also develop a deep understanding of customer needs and perform in-depth analysis to help inform and recommend best in class product and line of business decisions, while minimizing time to market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Coordinate and lead research efforts associated with GuideStone’s health and welfare line of business, including guiding Product Management Analysts work.
•Measure competitiveness and profitability of current product suite and collaborate with internal stakeholders for bringing improvements to market quickly to help support superior customer service and revenue growth targets.
•Manage the entire product lifecycle from business case analysis, requirements gathering, product positioning, release and monitoring product performance – while minimizing time to market.
•Work closely with leadership to develop and maintain a product line strategy/roadmap for the health and welfare line of business.
•Lead research and guide work of Product Management Analysts to gather data and member information to support formulation of data-driven product strategy, acquire competitive intelligence, a clear understanding of customer needs, and make recommendations to line of business leaders.
•Bachelors degree in business, finance, marketing, or related discipline.
•Knowledge and experience of product development within health and welfare insurance – or related industry – as demonstrated by 3-4 years of relevant and progressively more challenging experience.
•A Master’s degree (MBA preferred)
