Description

The IAFF Financial Corporation (FC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the International Association of Fire Fighters, has an immediate opening for a Director of Investment and Finance. This is an executive level position and is responsible for the oversight and growth of the IAFF Wealth Management Initiative and the nationwide network of firms and advisors providing financial planning and asset management opportunities for over 330,000 professional firefighters, first responders, and their families in the U.S. and Canada. The position is approved to be 100% remote, though considerable travel will be necessary to successfully accomplish the goals of this position.

The IAFF-FC offers SUPERB benefits, including a fully paid PPO, 401k plan with a match, plus a non-qualified "top hat" plan with a 5% employer contribution, with generous sick and vacation leave. Starting salary is between $140K - $180K, depending on experience.


Responsibilities:

The IAFF Wealth Management Initiative (https://iaff-fc.com/wealth-management-initiative/) is a comprehensive, fiduciary financial planning and wealth management program for active and retired Members of the International Association of Fire Fighters.

The Director of Investment and Finance is responsible for:

• The oversight and growth of the initiative.

• Meeting production benchmarks as set forth by the Board of Directors.

• Ensuring strict adherence to compliance and due diligence requirements associated with operating Broker Dealer and Register Investment Advisor firms.

• Ensuring strict adherence of compliance and due diligence requirements for the national network of firms and advisors associated with the initiative.

• Oversight and enforcement of the MOU between the IAFF-FC and the firms and advisors associated with the initiative.

• Evaluating and making recommendations to the COO regarding investment opportunities and additional
programs and services that would benefit the initiative and IAFF Members.

• Meeting with IAFF officials, state and local firefighter union officials, and others as necessary to explain and promote the IAFF Wealth Management Initiative.

• Attending and exhibiting on behalf of the Wealth Management Initiative at various IAFF events throughout the U.S. and Canada.



Skills and Qualifications:

Education:
• Minimum - Bachelor's degree in Finance or related area of study.
• Preferred - Master's degree in business related area of study.

Licenses:
• Minimum Financial - Series 7, Series 65 or 66, Series 24.
• Preferred Financial - Series 53.
• Minimum Insurance - Life, Health, and Accident.

Experience:
• Minimum - 10 years in the financial services industry.
• Preferred - 10+ years in the financial services industry, with 5 years supervising a network of advisors and firms on a regional or national level.



Interpersonal skills: The ability to cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and partners of the corporation. The ability to effectively interface with IAFF Leaders, Members, and their families regarding the benefits of the IAFF Wealth Management Initiative.

Technology skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Power Point, Quick Books, and Sales Force.

Communications skills: The ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and in person, with colleagues, partners, IAFF Leaders, Members, and their families, and with representatives from FINRA and the SEC.

Compliance and Due Diligence: The ability to oversee the compliance and due diligence requirements associated with a Broker Dealer (FINRA) and Registered Investment Advisor (SEC). The ability to oversee and ensure that the national network of firms and advisors associated with the IAFF Wealth Management Initiative are meeting their compliance and due diligence requirements.
