Health Benefits Conference & Expo (HBCE) Now a Part of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans

Brookfield, Wisconsin—The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans is pleased to announce that the Health Benefits Conference & Expo (HBCE) will join its diverse lineup of educational programs. HBCE focuses on employer health care plans and wellness initiatives and draws nearly 500 attendees and exhibitors each year.

HBCE was initiated in 1992 by Gene Piatek, PhD and has been held annually in recent years at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

“It has been an incredibly fulfilling experience to have produced this program,” said Dr. Piatek. “As I transition into retirement, I’m pleased to know that the International Foundation will be continuing the HBCE educational experience that attendees and speakers have built over the last two plus decades.”

The Foundation will use its 60 years of benefits education experience to build on the current success of the HBCE conference. It will continue to stay focused on health benefit initiatives, and maintain the general structure, content and approach to health care issues. The Foundation plans to enhance the conference with learning tools, including a virtual component which debuted at this year’s January 27-28, 2015 event. The virtual conference, free for face-to-face attendees and available for purchase to the general public, is open through April 17.

“HBCE has continually impressed us with the caliber of attendees, speakers and sessions,” explained Michael Wilson, CEO of the International Foundation. “We are honored to have acquired this conference and are committed to ensuring HBCE delivers the high-quality experience that attendees have come to expect.”

Dr. Piatek will continue to serve in an advisory role for the program.
