The New Trustees Institute focuses on your role as a trustee, your understanding of the key issues in managing your pension and health and welfare funds, and the complex environment of benefits.
As the first step in the trustee education path, trustees will obtain a basic understanding of their fiduciary responsibility, the legal environment, best practices and current issues in the benefits industry.
The New Trustees Institute is designed for trustees who have served for less than two years on ERISA-covered plans or who have not previously attended an International Foundation educational program. The New Trustees Institute is also ideal for collective bargaining personnel and others who work with trustees and would like a better understanding of their role and responsibilities.
order to help trustees better meet their educational needs, the
Foundation has created a suggested progression of trustee education.
This program is the first step in the trustee education path.
Look to the Trustee Resource Center
as you serve in this influential role as a trustee! You'll receive
guidance on legal and regulatory issues, investment management,
