Mr. Carson is a retired field representative who formerly worked for the district Social Security office in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He held positions as claims representative, hearing analyst and benefit authorizer during his tenure with the Social Security Administration. Doug believes that Social Security financing has always been a hot topic but, "Social Security has paid benefits for over 60 years in one form or another and will continue to pay benefits well into the future."
Doug grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He enjoys running, biking, whitewater canoeing and camping. He has completed two marathons and hiked down the grand canyon twice. He is married with two grown children and one grandchild. Doug and his wife live in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Doug holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Louisville. He presents the Social Security section of Retirement Plan Basics in the Certificate Series. His approach to teaching is to make the subject fun and interesting to the students, "even if the topic is Social Security."
