Free to International Foundation and ISCEBS Members

RECORDED – April 4, 2017
3:00-4:30 p.m. ET

The Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA) recently released a complete update to CAPSA Pension Plan Governance Guideline No. 4.  As a plan trustee, sponsor and/or administrator, it is important to familiarize yourself with the revised guideline so as to determine whether changes are necessary to your pension plan's governance structure, processes and documentation.

Increasingly governments are focusing on governance structures and introducing regulatory requirements for written documentation.  In both Alberta and British Columbia, trustees are required to provide written governance and funding policies as well as periodic administrative assessments. Also in Ontario, the government is considering a similar change to mandate governance and funding policies as part of its consultation review on solvency funding.  A solid understanding of CAPSA guideline No. 4 will help prepare you for these requirements.

In this webcast, presenters Susan Bird and Susan Nickerson will outline what's new about CAPSA Guideline No. 4 and why it is relevant to your fund.
