Employees within organizations are facing unprecedented demands, pressure and uncertainty. The only constant is constant change. Most people describe the sensation of being in these situations as feeling stressed. Perceived stress can have a negative impact on health, relationships and work performance. Many programs focus on stress reduction and relaxation; however, this is probably not sufficient considering the world of high demand and constant pressure we are facing. On the other hand, resiliency is the capacity to prepare for adversity, adapt quickly to change, recover from disappointment, persist despite challenges and grow from difficulty. Resiliency means taking a proactive instead of reactive approach. This program focuses on the science of resiliency and offers practical strategies for employees to respond in more positive and productive ways to challenging environments at work and at home. The six principles explored in this session will inspire, empower and enable employees to Adjust, Recover, and Toughen to people and situations. Each key practice will be introduced and linked to resiliency. Participants will then have an opportunity to engage in a discussion or activity that will deepen their connection to the practice and how they can leverage it for themselves.
