CEBS Compliant Listing

The CEBS Compliance program recognizes and honors CEBS graduates who expand their industry knowledge and expertise to best administer or advise the benefit plans they serve.

Introduced in 2013, the purpose of CEBS Compliance is in keeping with the global reputation of excellence and the high academic standards of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Compliance contributes to the integrity of the CEBS program and those who hold the designation.

CEBS Compliance is defined as 30 credits over two calendar years. Below are the CEBS graduates who have successfully met the standard to be recognized as CEBS Compliant. By participating, these individuals reaffirm their commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. CEBS Compliance ensures the CEBS designation—and the collective industry knowledge it represents—remains visible and strong.

Publicizing Your CEBS Compliance

CEBS Compliance status is awarded to graduates of the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) program who attest to meeting 30 credit hours of continuing professional education every two years. This status demonstrates a high level of professional commitment to staying current in all aspects of employee benefits as well as keeping one's CEBS designation current and meaningful.

The following guidelines have been designed to enhance recognition for those CEBS graduates who met the standards of compliance. Following these guidelines will lead to better public understanding and expressed recognition of the CEBS Compliance status.

General Uses

 ​The words "CEBS Compliant,"  may be used in an appropriate manner on business cards, stationery, office advertising, telephone, business and professional listings, social media profiles and on signed communications. It may not be used as part of a firm's name, trademark or logo.

Location of the CEBS Compliance words should specifically relate to the CEBS graduate's name and not be positioned so that it appears to relate to the company name.

The CEBS Compliance words should not be included in or combined with any other logo or trademark appearing on the card, stationery, profile or publication. They can be displayed within proximity of the CEBS words and CEBS logo as long as the CEBS words and CEBS logo are displayed according to their approved uses.

Announcements—Press Releases, Publications and Advertisements

Employers may issue press releases and/or publish congratulatory articles or advertisements. Material that can be included in congratulatory announcements include the designee’s name with “CEBS Compliant" following the designee’s name, designee’s photograph, copy describing the CEBS designation, and the firm’s name and address.

News Release

You may wish to have a news release issued recognizing your professional accomplishment in attaining or maintaining CEBS Compliant status. The following sample release is provided to assist you. Feel free to modify the release to suit your individual needs.​

Sources for news releases may include local daily or weekly newspapers, association and trade publications and blogs, alumni publications or in-house publications (online and off-line).

Press releases need not be preapproved by CEBS; however, CEBS will review your release upon request.

Sample News Release

Jane Smith, CEBS, Director, Smith Consulting, Ltd., State, has been recognized for attaining CEBS Compliance in the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program for a two-year period. She is a graduate of the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) program, co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (For Canada use Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.).

Smith earned the additional distinction by attesting to completing 30 hours of continuing professional education over the last two years.  

One of the most widely recognized and respected professional credentials, the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program is a unique, university-developed curriculum covering all aspects of employer-sponsored group health and retirement benefits.  Smith earned her CEBS designation in 1998.

Smith also is a member of the National Society of Industry Professionals.
