Benefits Associate

Spivak Lipton LLP represents labor unions, benefit funds, and individual employees. We are currently looking for an ERISA Benefits Attorney who supports the labor movement and is interested in working on behalf of workers and unions.
Our Benefits Associate will primarily handle ERISA benefits matters (including compliance issues, counseling, and litigation). This associate will work directly with benefit plan staff and trustees to help design health and retirement benefits that meet the needs of unionized employees, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and assist with the proper administration of those benefits. The firm also expects that the benefits associate would spend a portion of their time on labor and employment matters.
The successful candidate must have excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills and a strong commitment to unions and employee rights. If you find this work appealing and interesting, we hope you will apply.
Requirements: We welcome applications from attorneys with 1-3 years of experience. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the state of New York or commit to become licensed within one year of hire.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Starting salary is $100,000 to $110,000 based on experience.
