We are currently seeking a Benefits System Analyst. This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. (Initially position will be telecommute.)
Plans and manages the exchange of benefit and related data between all divisions of Battelle and Battelle subsidiaries, the benefits enrollment system and selected third party administrators. Manages the implementation and maintenance of benefit enrollment systems and related processes, while also recommending and implementing system improvement recommendations. Collaborates with internal benefit, payroll, information technology and human resource information system staff across all divisions, benefit providers, third party administrators and any other data users to analyze business problems, intended data applications and information needs, in order to develop data and reporting solutions.
-Manages the development of the exchange of benefit information between Battelle and the enrollment system(s) and the related operational processes for Battelle Columbus Operations as well as Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and subsidiary companies.
-Serves as the Columbus benefits functional project manager and subject matter expert for the implementation, ongoing development and upgrades of PeopleSoft (PS) and other system modules, including supporting upgrades by or for Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
-Ensures all processes are in compliance with all legal documents, as well as federal regulations.
-Provides training and technical assistance to system users with regard to the benefits module. Designs all benefits related system training programs, formal and informal.
-Ensures effective delivery of system reporting output, including from third party systems, to accommodate multiple needs of management, benefit providers, other third-party administrators, etc.
-Maintains expert user knowledge of benefit enrollment system operations and software capabilities.
-Works with internal partners, including Corporate Information Technology, Human Resources Information Systems and Payroll, to build and test files related to the ongoing reporting and maintenance of employee data used to determine eligibility.
-Understands PeopleSoft data requirements, table relationships and relational processing of various types of data including personnel data, job data, action reasons, benefit plans, benefit programs, and event and eligibility rules, etc. to ensure accuracy of system and data design as it relates to benefits administration performed by that system.
-Defines and maintains all data elements in the PS system as needed including plans, programs, event rules, eligibility rules, rate tables, event maintenance schedules, coverage codes, etc. Works with data users to understand data specifications.
Provides general support of the department on administrative as well as systems issues.
-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources or a relevant field; five years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
-Experience with PeopleSoft Benefits Administration.
-Work experience must evidence effective analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills and a thorough working knowledge of regulations related to qualified plans and welfare plans, benefit processes, procedures and reporting requirements.
-Demonstrative ability to utilize database system resources; evaluate and design work processes and data collection routines; and effect process change.
-Effective communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
The Following is Desired:
Functional experience implementing and/or maintaining relational HR/Benefits/Payroll database systems desired.
PeopleSoft Benefits Administration module training
Experience with SuccessFactors.
