About this Opportunity:

The Director of Total Rewards will play a critical role at Meridian, leading the total rewards team in designing and implementing innovative compensation, recognition, benefits, wellbeing and pension programs for today and the future to align with Meridian’s evolving business strategy.

What you’ll get to do:

• Partner with leaders across the organization to identify program modification and enhancements that will enable employees to achieve Meridian’s goals and perform at their best!
• Provide subject matter expertise as it relates to Executive, Employees and Sales Compensation programs, Job Evaluation, Pay Equity, HR Policies & Procedures, Recognition programs, Wellbeing initiatives, Benefit programs, and Pension Plans (Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution).
• Draft Board reports for submission to the Human Resources Committee
• Coach team members to leverage their strengths and support their ongoing development to achieve the organization’s goals and desired behaviours
• Lead effective performance management, individual development plans, and employee engagement action planning
• Create and maintain close functional working relationships within Employee Experience and business partners across the organization

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven people leader with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Deep specialized knowledge of HR, Compensation including variable sales incentive plans, Pension (Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution), and benefits program development and implementation and all relevant legislation and external supplier contracts. This includes but is not limited to knowledge of CRA and ESA legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modeling ability, sound judgment, independent and creative thinking with an eye for detail and accuracy.
• Consulting skills to provide value added solutions to business challenges and opportunities focusing on total rewards that address the organization’s immediate need and longer term strategic goals
• Demonstrated project management skills, including cross functional projects and various stakeholders.
• Action and results-oriented, while able to maintain a broader business perspective

Education, Designations & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and post-graduate education, with a preferred focus on Human Resources, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ year’s progressive business experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
