Job Description: Director of Human Resources

Reports to: Fund Administrator

Position Summary

The United Association National Pension Fund (UANPF) is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to partner with the Administrative Leadership Team on organizational initiatives during an exciting period of transformation and revitalization that we are embarking upon.

As the Director of Human Resources you will be passionate about all facets of Human Resources’ contribution to the organization and be exceptional at providing inspiring and strategic guidance to mold and uphold the organization’s vision, mission, goals and core values; while creating and nurturing a culture of innovation and accountability. You will have exceptional interpersonal partnership and collaboration skills, and a passion to coach and manage talent to reach their full potential, while being able to mediate grievances in a deliberate and objective manner.

Partnering with the Administrative Leadership Team and bringing one’s “A-game” the ideal candidate will have a “can do” attitude of continuous improvement, and will pave the way for growth and advancement of UANPF’s strategy, people and operations, with the ultimate goal of servicing the organization, its employees and its participants at the highest levels.

• Effectively develop, implement and manage Human Resources-related programs and initiatives that strategically inform and support UANPF’s vision, mission, values and organizational goals and objective HR areas of focus to include: talent acquisition, rewards and recognition, change management, talent/performance management, organizational and leadership development, manager training and development, employee and labor relations, health and wellbeing
• Proactively improve HR programs, policies, practices and procedures to align with organization goals
• Evaluate reports, decisions and results of department initiatives relative to established goals to recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to deliver continued improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop HR team members as part of department-wide excellence and proficiency goals
• Construct talent acquisition/management/development strategies and programs to build a strong talent pipeline for short and long-term recruitment needs and fortify talent management outcomes, inclusive of robust branding, sourcing and hiring, onboarding/assimilation, talent development, rewards and recognition and succession planning initiatives
• Develop, coordinate and maintain effective leadership/management training and development programs for managers and supervisors including potential facilitation of selected programs to meet and exceed professional and organizational performance and development needs
• Create and implement employee engagement programs to promote and nurture organizational values and culture
• Monitor internal employee satisfaction and identify areas for workplace and cultural improvements
• Develop and maintain an organizational performance management program, policy, procedure and systems including coaching and career path programs
• Design performance accountability mechanisms for use by managers and supervisors
• Perform employee coaching and guidance as needed
• Partner with managers and supervisors to assist with talent acquisition/management initiatives including the implementation and updating of job descriptions, establishment of recruiting plans, and monitoring and supporting performance evaluation and coaching processes, as well as employee life-cycle transactions
• Effectively structure a total rewards and recognition program to attract and retain top talent, while routinely reviewing benefits, compensation, recognition and wellness packages to ensure cost efficiency, competitiveness and engagement effectiveness
• Revise and maintain UANPF Fund Wide employee handbook
• Promote open and effective communication at all levels of the organization; understand employee viewpoints
• Encourage diverse thinking through implementation of creative ideas to promote and nurture innovation
• Utilize technology to innovate and enhance the reach and measure of Human Resource programs and workflows, inclusive of employee self-service portals
• Develop automated employee reimbursement processes
• Establish and maintain KPIs and metrics to track performance, engagement and culture efficacy; Identify positive and negative trends and quickly resolve with solutions aligned with strategic and operational goals
• Serve as the point of contact for employee and labor relations, inclusive of compliance and regulatory agencies
• Study legislation, arbitration decisions and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends
• Partner and guide the Administrative Leadership team during negotiations of collective bargaining agreements
• Create and maintain annual Human Resources budget

Education & Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources generalist and organizational/business partner experience required; minimum 5 years in a senior-level Human Resources position
• BS/BA in management, human resources management, organizational development or related field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and understanding of HR/Talent Systems
• SHRM CP/SCP Certification a plus

Salary: $130,000-$140,000
