In November 2020, the International Foundation surveyed U.S. organizations to examine the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on their employee benefit plans. The report,
Employee Benefits in a COVID-19 World—Six-Month Update, is a follow-up to a similar survey conducted in April 2020 that addressed changes to retirement plans, health care offerings, benefit trends, and workforce staffing levels.
This edition examines new topics including:
- Actions taken with defined benefit (DB) pension plans
- Change in participants taking DC plan hardship withdrawals and loans
- Changes in number of health care claims
- Utilization of EAP/LAP Services
- Changes in paid/unpaid leave benefits
- Changes made to staffing levels
- Percentage of workers working remotely
- Reimbursement for remote working expenses
