Position Summary
The Pension Plan and Supplemental Monthly Annuity Fund are both multi-employer benefit funds established over 50 years ago. We are responsible for administering the retirement benefits for many ironworkers in the Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa areas.

The Pension Manager is the supervisor of the Pension Department. This job requires an ardent attention to detail and adherence to strict deadlines of crucial importance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the pension staff to ensure that monthly and annual deadlines are met (pension distributions, monthly balancing, RMDs, annual notices, etc.) and completed based on set policies and procedures.
• Review pension distributions for members, spouses, beneficiaries and ex-spouses.
• Meet with members when then they visit the Fund Office to discuss their retirement needs.
• Customer phone service to answer numerous questions throughout the business day.
• Review written correspondence to members which accurately describes the appropriate plan provisions.
• Work with plan attorney, consultant and auditor on various projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma and 1 – 3 years college with business background.
• 3 – 6 years of pension processing experience.
• Professional and positive attitude with a customer service focused approach.
• Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Able to manage a team of pension processors.
