Description

The Automobile Mechanics’ Local #701 Benefit Fund Office is seeking to hire a Pension Specialist with a background in pension and benefit administration who has the ability to interpret benefits, plan documents, and regulations.

Job Requirements:
A minimum of three years of pension and benefit administration experience and an associate’s degree is preferred. If the educational requirement is not met, job experience will be considered. In that event, a minimum of six years of pension and benefit administration experience is required.

401(k)/Defined Contribution benefit experience is preferred.

Specific experience working with plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and the ability to read, analyze, and comprehend the above-referenced documents.

The ability to create reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the plan participants.

The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Process and review routine and complex defined benefit pension calculations and inquiries with minimal assistance and process manual pension calculations.

The ability to coordinate with staff, actuaries, and legal contacts, as needed.

Respond to telephone calls and written requests from participants.

The ability to prepare and review written communications for participant inquiries.

The ability to balance and reconcile pension payroll on a monthly basis.

The ability to review and process pension payment applications.

Ensure that final work products are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.

Conduct system testing for plan modifications and enhancements.

Work independently on projects with little or no supervision.

Process Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs).

Review ACH rejects and daily suspect check report.

Customer service in person and on the telephone with current retirees, new retirees, and active participants.

Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Computer Skills
Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Great communication, computer, and math skills. ISSI a plus.
