How to Register

Q1: If I am submitting a new exam application, will I have to take the exam virtually?

A:  All applications that are submitted for exams taken in 2020 will be processed as virtual exams. All exam registrations continue to be available online or through a printable order form. If you prefer to not take a virtual exam, require a proctored exam for CE credit for your state insurance license or need special accommodations, you will need to test in-person at a Prometric Center.  Please contact CEBS Customer Service to submit your exam application.

Q2: What if I have already scheduled an appointment at a Prometric Center?

A:  You have the option to keep your scheduled day/time appointment at Prometric.  If you would prefer to take your exam virtually, you must cancel your appointment directly with Prometric in advance and then contact CEBS Customer Service to arrange for a virtual exam. To cancel your Prometric appointment, go to https://www.prometric.com/test-takers/search/cebs and click on Reschedule/Cancel in the Actions section on the left hand side of the screen.

Q3:  What if I'm applying for CE credit for my insurance license and my state requires a proctored exam?

A:  If your state requires a proctored exam to obtain CE credit for your insurance license – you MUST take your exam at a Prometric Center.  Please note that some states have temporarily relaxed their proctor requirements which means that non-proctored exams may be eligible for CE credit.  Because states are adjusting CE rules as the COVID-19 situation evolves, it is your responsibility to confirm CE rules with your state before completing an application for a virtual non-proctored exam. If you have questions, please contact the Continuing Education department at (262) 786-6710, option 2 or e-mail continuinged@ifebp.org.

Q4:  Do I still need to test during a selected window/quarter?

A:  Yes, you will need to take your exam within the window/quarter you selected when you applied for the exam.

Q5:  What if I'm requesting special accommodations?

A:  If you require special accommodations, you will need to test in-person at a Prometric center.  Please call CEBS Customer Service to apply for your exam.
