The New and Improved
CEBS Student Exam Experience
Updated June 2026
The CEBS Exams will now be offered exclusively on the IFEBP website as of June 18th, 2026. This will allow for students to have an efficient and expedient way to complete their exams from enrollment/purchase, through earning a designation. Learning materials and the exam will be hosted on the same website, allowing for a single username and password, access to knowledgeable student services, and a quicker resolution to a technical concern if one would arise. This platform change ensures the same exam integrity/security while simplifying the students' experience.
Listening to our students has helped us create a new experience that allows for quicker access to the exam, coordination with exam access and Online Study Group with Instructor Support timeframes, single sign on access that follows updates to your IFEBP profile, and two attempts available without having to pause your progress towards your goals.
- Students will now login to their profile on www.ifebp.org to access all CEBS related materials, including their exam. You will see this on your profile in June 2026.
- There will no longer be "Testing Windows" throughout each year. Students will receive a 120-day exam access period when an exam purchase is processed. Each exam will have two attempts available with no need to order the second attempt If the first one doesn't go as planned, the second attempt can be accessed as soon as the first attempt has been cleared, usually within 48 hours (or next business day).
- When a student purchases a Success Package or an Online Study Group with Instructor Support for a future session, the exam access period of 120 days will coincide with the start date of the study group This optimizes the learning of the structured study group and allows students to plan their learning for future dates/times. Purchase of a study group after it starts will not penalize a student who will maintain their full 120-day exam expiration window.
- Exam Extensions will be available for students who are in need of extending their exam access window. This will provide for an additional 60 days of access while preserving the number of attempts available at the time of order processing. This opportunity is available for up to 30 days past the expiration date listed for a given exam. After 30 days a new exam enrollment would be required for purchase at full price.
- Additional attempts are available for purchase for students who would require more opportunities to complete their exam. This will add one additional attempt while extending the access period for an additional 60 days. The additional attempt would be available to a student as soon as the order is processed. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.
- For all students who purchased their exam prior to June 10, 2026 and were assigned a "testing window", your exam expiration date will be honored. When you login to your IFEBP learning center, you will see your exam listed there as available to you. You will see that the expiration date associated with the exam will be the same as your original purchase You have two attempts available for new enrollments, or one attempt if this would be a retake or a second attempt.
- If a student was eligible for their second attempt at the close of the prior testing window, you will see one attempt available to you with an expiration date of 9/15/2026, in accordance with the 2nd attempt policy of completing a second attempt in the following testing window. Unlike the prior system, this has been done for you with no need to order the attempt.
- Students enrolled in a future Online Study Group with Instructor Support will see their exam as accessible to them, but the expiration date will correspond with 120 days from the start date of the Study Group.
- Please continue reading the information provided regarding the exam experience to learn more about the enhanced student experience and what to expect as you continue with your CEBS studies.

Expected Time: 20 minutes
To make sure you are familiar with accessing your online exam, the technology requirements and confirm your exam is ready for you when you are ready to take the test, we suggest the following.
- Login to your IFEBP profile and select the My Learning tab from the dropdown menu
- Confirm that you see your exam listed on your learning activities. Don't be afraid to click on this. You will not start your exam, but see information regarding the number of attempts available to you, the expiration date, etc.
- Please note for scheduling purposes, that when a students access period expires, all attempts associated with the account will expire together. It is a best practice to schedule time to take your first attempt with a few weeks prior to your expiration, so that in the case a retake is required, you will have time left to review the learning materials and attempt the exam for a second time prior to the exam expiration.
- Confirm with your IT team that you can download and utilize the Chrome browser and that you have access to a desktop or laptop computer with a microphone and camera. If using an employers laptop or network, it is a best practice to confirm with your IT team that you will be able to authorize the sharing of your screen, and access to the microphone and webcam.
- If you are seeking Continuing Education, please see below for more information regarding potential proctor requirements.
If you are seeking Continuing Education credit for completion of your exam, visit the Continuing Education page for more information. For Continuing Education for an Insurance License – it may be necessary to schedule an in-person proctor to oversee the completion of your exam, and complete the necessary affidavit/form. NOTE: Virtual Exam Monitoring Software does not meet Insurance Board requirements to be used for Continuing Education purposes to be considered a proctored environment.

There is the option to navigate through the questions in order, jump to a specific question, save a question for later, view unanswered questions, and multiple confirmations that you are ready to submit your exam to make sure a student doesn't accidentally submit an exam.
- The 90 Minute timer will start when you access the first question. The timer will remain visible throughout the exam.
- There are two types of questions, multiple choice and all-except. These are noted within each question and are not separated into distinct banks/blocks of questions. Carefully read each question and answer accordingly.
- You can navigate to the next question in numerical order by clicking the next or previous buttons.
- To jump to a different question, you can use the Review All Questions button to scroll through all of the questions.

- To see a list of questions marked as "Save for Review", simply click the "Review All Questions" button on the lower right of the question area. You can scroll through the questions in numerical order, and each will be listed as having a status of answered, not answered, or for review. Clicking on the status listed will take you to that specific question.
- If you have questions marked for review, or unanswered questions when you click submit, a pop-up will appear stating you have unanswered questions and ask if you would like to review them. Click "Yes" if you wish to review them at that time.
- When you are have completed all of the review questions, and answered all questions to the best of your ability, you will submit your exam by clicking on the submit button, and confirming you are submitting your exam.
Expected Time: 3 Minutes
Once you have clicked the Submit button and confirmed you are ready, you will see an immediate exam result as either a PASS or NONPASS. This result is based on the academic scoring of the exam.
Due to the review and validation of the Exam Monitoring process, a slight delay of the exam result showing up in a students IFEBP profile should be expected. All CEBS exams are reviewed for adherence to the CEBS Virtual Exam Code of Conduct and any flagged activity through the exam monitoring software.
In the beginning of the exam, the monitoring software walks through different reasons an exam may be flagged for review. Many times an exam may be flagged for a number of reasons and each of these will be reviewed by CEBS staff to determine next steps. This is a normal part of the process and a student should not be concerned. Exams review timeframes may very due to volume. A student in this review process will receive communication to inform them of timeline, next steps, and resolutions. Any exam completed outside of business hours will not be reviewed until next business day at minimum.
Once an exam is reviewed, and the results are confirmed, the students results will be available to view in their IFEBP Profile. Instructions on viewing and printing your Educational Records will be included when the results are available in a students profile.
Expected Time: 3 minutes
You will receive an email confirmation that your exam attempt has been reviewed, and your results have been updated in your IFEBP profile.
This email will also include instructions on how to verify your “pass” or “non-pass” notification on your official CEBS transcript.
Please note that numerical scores or percentages are not available. Also, due to the nature of virtual exams, diagnostic information or an analysis/breakdown on your performance for each module is not available.
Your exam results are accessible for viewing on the IFEBP website by logging into your profile.

The CEBS courses are challenging college level content, and most students are busy professionals both studying, working, and managing a personal life. We understand this. The course content is designed to be challenging to ensure that students can be ready to handle the base knowledge required, as well as apply the learning to their work.
If a student needs some additional opportunities to be successful, or work/life interferes with the opportunity to complete your exam within a given exam access period, there are options available.
Exams - Additional Attempt - If a student would require more than the initial two attempts included in an exam purchase to be successful, they may order an Additional Attempt to be added to their account. An Additional Attempt is a $100 charge and can be ordered through the online order process. The additional attempt will show on the online order form, regardless of when the initial exams were completed. A student will receive a single additional attempt, with a 60 day exam access window to complete it. The additional attempt will be available in the students profile as soon as the order is processed, which is a three-five business day turnaround time.
Exams - Extension - If a student is for some reason unable to complete their exam attempts successfully within the purchased access window, a student can choose to purchase an Exam Extension. The extension may be purchased at any time a student has an active enrollment, up through 30 days past the expiration date. At that time the student would be required to purchase a new full price exam enrollment. The Extension is available for a $150 fee which will preserve the number of attempts on a students record at the time of processing, while extending the expiration date on record by an additional 60 days.
Students are encouraged to use the online ordering process, which can be accessed by clicking on the corresponding country button at the top of the page, logging in, and paying through the online process. This ensures the quickest opportunity for the CEBS team to process an order.
