For as long as drug, health and dental benefit plans have existed, prices and costs have dictated plan design, eligibility and cost-sharing. Many dollars are wasted in excessive or inadequate spending rather than helping prevent or manage illness. Ultra-high-cost drugs, changes in demographic and chronic disease profiles, poor health literacy, diverse worker needs and expanding professional services continue to threaten benefit plan sustainability. More than ever, plan sponsors must ensure that benefit plans enable better health: That's value. However, existing plan data doesn't provide this insight, and value is rarely defined.

To address these unrelenting and conflicting pressures, value is emerging as a framework to ensure plan quality, protect access and focus spending. This webcast will present the case for considering and implementing a complementary and practical value framework.
