The world of work is changing fast—and it's creating a real opportunity to rethink how we support worker health and well-being. The Work Futures Initiative, led by industry experts at UC Berkeley's Interdisciplinary Center for Healthy Workplaces, gathered more than 150 professionals across nine occupational groups and simply listened. What emerged was a compelling call to action: Today's workforce challenges are deeply interconnected. Exhaustion is structural, not just personal, and we are at a critical tipping point. Hybrid work has created health and equity fault lines that benefits programs weren't built for. Trust, belonging, and community need intentional cultivation in a distributed world.

The opportunity lies in integration and with a multidisciplinary approach. When wellness, HR, benefits, occupational health, and psychology perspectives come together, meaningful progress becomes possible.

This webinar introduces the findings of the Work Futures Initiative and invites professionals to think differently about the problems they're solving, the tools available, and the collaborations that can truly move the needle.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the interconnected workforce challenges identified by the Work Futures Initiative and their implications for worker health and well-being.
  • Analyze how current wellness and benefits programs may be misaligned with the structural drivers of worker exhaustion, disengagement, and eroding trust.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration that can strengthen organizational approaches to worker well-being.
