Celine Chiovitti, CEBS
Chief Pension Officer
OMERS
Toronto, ON
Celine Chiovitti is the chief pension officer at OMERS. She is responsible for leading a team of more than 400 employees in the delivery of
exceptional services, innovative tools and prudent pension administration to over 600,000 members. Under her leadership, her team is
committed to delivering a world-class pension plan in a complex
stakeholder environment with more than 1,000 employers and 30
unions and associations. Celine has been spearheading a conversation about what “retirement” means today, in a world where we are
“greying” and living longer. She is determined to raise awareness
about the importance of pension plans as social infrastructure. Prior to
joining OMERS in 2013, Celine spent her career in public service and
previously served as a division head at the City of Toronto, where she
was responsible for pension, payroll and benefits delivery to 35,000
unionized and nonunionized employees. Her career has been focused
on a fundamental belief in the value of defined benefit pensions and
the positive impact they have on the lives of Ontarians and society.
