Bobbi Taillefer is happy to enter a new stage of her career as an active consultant offering services in leadership and governance in both official languages. Prior to her consulting role, Bobbi was the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation. Leading a complex organization with five distinct business units, Bobbi and her senior leadership team had responsibilities and oversight of an $8 billion teachers’ pension plan, self-insured teacher benefits plans, a professional development unit, a professional resource library, and bargaining and labour relations units. Bobbi started her career as a teacher and principal at the elementary and high school levels. She then worked for the Manitoba Teachers’ Society for 21 years, starting as a staff officer in labour relations, then becoming deputy general secretary, and finally serving as general secretary. In 2018, Bobbi assumed the role of Deputy General Secretary with the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, Canada’s largest teacher organization. She has experience in labour relations, bargaining, principal representation, French language services, Indigenous education and professional issues. Bobbi was the former president of the Winnipeg Humane Society and part of the capital campaign to raise $14 million for a state-of-the-art LEADS facility. Bobbi was a director on the Canadian Teachers’ Federation Board, the Forks North Portage Development Corp Board and Taking Charge! and sits as a nominator for the Leonard Foundation Board. Bobbi also served as the inaugural Commissioner of Teacher Professional Conduct for the Government of Manitoba. She serves as a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans’ Canadian Legal/Legislative and Public Sector Committee. Bobbi holds a law and economics diploma from Université d’Aix-Marseilles, a bachelor of arts degree in political science, a master of education degree in educational administration from the University of Manitoba, a human resources certificate from Cornell University, and certificates in bargaining from Queens University and Harvard as well as in governance training (FTMS®, ATMS® and MTMS®) from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
