Mindful Journaling - Ana Agud, M.P.H.

Join Ana Agud for this program during which intentional and mindful reflection will offer attendees an opportunity to reconnect with their sense of purpose by offering meditations, mindful movement, and a collection of guided journaling prompts.

For Presence and For Connection – Joel Bennett, Ph.D.

Through a series of guided contemplations, simple self-reflections, and easy-to-do Qigong exercises, participants will have an opportunity to relax, get centered, and discover connectedness with other like-minded human beings. Each session will start with silent meditation, deep breathing, and Qigong, followed by contemplative quotations on each quality, a guided contemplation, and opportunity to share and connect with others.

Guided Yoga for Your Joints & Mind - Corinne (Coco) Bopp, M.Ed.

This mat yoga session will include novel changes to yoga postures and flows, include a variety of joint movements that enhance brain function, and provide an opportunity to stretch and move with breath and mindfulness. The session will end with “savasana”, a meditative and relaxing supine posture. Note: please bring a yoga mat to the session. If you don’t have a mat, we will provide towels.

Cardio Dance – Jessica Diallo, M.A.

The workout that feels like a party! Let loose in this one-hour dance workout. Get your heart, mind, and soul feeling energized and fit to your favorite pop and hip-hop songs. All are welcome - whether you are new or familiar with cardio dance moves.

Well-Being Walk - Leslie Gay

Join us for a walk and a prompt-led conversation about wellbeing at work and home.

Play to Connect - Dayna Gowan, M.P.H. and Jesse Greenfield, M.P.H.

Want to laugh, have fun, and connect with other attendees at a conference? YES PLEASE! It can be difficult to meet people and break the ice at large conferences but not at this session! In this dynamic workshop, we will play multiple teambuilding and improv games to get participants thinking quickly and flexing their creativity muscles! The improv games will have participants laughing, getting out of their heads and into their bodies, and working together as a team to build a scene, an idea, or a reality.

No need to change into workout clothes for this activity session. Come as you are and just be present in the moment. Try something fun and different at the conference and boost your creativity at the same time! Fun is guaranteed with this special workshop event!

Yoga for Every Body – Kim Holton, Ph.D.

Gentle, mindful yoga practice appropriate for all levels of experience.

Zumba® - Crystal Ruiz, M.A.

Zumba® is designed for anyone who loves to dance and brings together a variety of cultures and genres of music. It's a full body workout that mixes low and high intensity moves. Dancing gets the heart pumping, helps build endurance, improves flexibility, and leaves you feeling energized. We might move individually, but we work as team encouraging each other during our time together. The best part about Zumba® is you can move at your own pace and no experience is necessary. Hope to see you on the dance floor!

Thursday: 6:30 am - 7:30 am

Guided Mindfulness Activity to Enhance Cultural Inclusion – Rikki Gilmore-Byrd, M.P.H., Dr.P.H. and Reyna Gilmore, M.D.

This guided mindfulness activity will take participants through a story that exemplifies how it feels to move from an exclusive environment to an inclusive environment. The somatic experience allows participants to feel the magnitude of cultivating spaces of inclusiveness and belonging.

Yoga for Every Body – Kim Holton, Ph.D.

Gentle, mindful yoga practice appropriate for all levels of experience.

Sensing Walk - Lindsey Nanney, Ed.D. and Amy Olsen, M.A.

This activity session will include a walk around the conference property to engage the senses. You will be able to walk at a pace that is comfortable for you and most of the walk will be done in silent reflection and mindfulness. You will be asked to focus on what you see on your walk and then reflect on perhaps something surprising or previously overlooked. The session leaders will also have you focus and reflect in other ways such as what you hear and smell, what you feel and finally experience the walk engaging and disassociating with the senses for a comparison to identify preferences.

Thursday: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Ecstatic Dance! - Bob Swoap, Ph.D.

Ecstatic dance is a free form of dance and movement expression. There is no one way to do ecstatic dance. It has a long history across many cultures. It is sometimes used to get more into your body and less in your head; to connect with your breath, the music, and others dancing around you; to manage stress and challenging emotions; and sometimes to achieve an ecstatic state – feeling free, letting go, not feeling judged by self or others, experiencing joy!

No experience necessary! Join the fun and let go of self-judgments. This is not choreography — there are no steps to learn, and there is definitely no way to do it wrong. This dance is a free expression of everything swirling within you, and our group will hold space on the dance floor to set it all free.

Friday: 6:30 am - 7:30 am
