Payroll Auditor

Position Summary / Objective:
As an Employee Benefit Plan Payroll Auditor, you will be a valuable part of our team as you perform audit testing procedures relating to Employee Benefit Plans with primary responsibility for payroll compliance audits. Most audits will be conducted in our office, as many clients provide the necessary audit information electronically. However, some audits may require time spent at client or payroll compliance audit locations with occasional overnight travel.
Travel
• Ability to travel to work locations away from primary office with occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to drive a personal vehicle to work locations up to 300 miles from primary office location.
• Ability to transport all necessary equipment and data in a secure manner.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
• Perform payroll compliance audits to test employer compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) of union-based benefit plans.
• Prepare written reports communicating payroll compliance audit findings.
• Prepare work paper documentation.
• Understand the rules, regulations, and code of ethics of the AICPA.
• Assist in the billing and collection or employer delinquencies, and the preparation of monthly delinquency reports.
• Prepare bi-monthly audit reports for NOA’s Delinquency and Audit Committee.
• Become familiar with:
- The policies and procedures of each Benefit Plan you will be auditing
- The Collective Bargaining Agreements of each Benefit Plan
- Pronouncements from the appropriate governing bodies (i.e., DOL, AICPA, FASB, & IRC)
- NOA computer hardware and software

• Excellent communicator with strong people skills and ability to communicate with staff, management, employers, and unions, with a focus on service excellence.
• Meticulous with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, set priorities and work in a challenging environment.
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Accounting and CPA License
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
Compensation and Benefits:
• Salary: $80,000 Annually
• Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00
