Job Summary
The Retirement Education Consultant plays a key role in supporting plan sponsors and plan members by delivering clear, engaging retirement and financial wellness education. This role leads PACE’s Retirement and Financial Wellness initiative; designing content, delivering group education sessions, supporting members one-on-one, and helping organizations improve member understanding of their workplace retirement and savings programs. You’ll act as a trusted guide, helping members build financial confidence and make informed decisions about their future.
What You’ll Do
Financial Wellness & Education
- Lead and manage organization’s Financial Wellness initiative, ensuring alignment with client needs and industry best practices.
- Develop a comprehensive annual Financial Wellness calendar with monthly education topics for plan sponsors.
- Design and maintain engaging educational content covering retirement, savings, investment basics, and financial wellness.
Member Communications & Presentations
- Create clear, effective member communication materials across presentations, written content, webinars, and digital formats.
- Deliver group education sessions (in-person and virtual) for plan members on topics such as plan enrolment, contribution strategies, investment fundamentals and retirement readiness.
- Tailor materials to suit diverse plan sponsors and member audiences.
One-on-One Member Support
- Provide one-on-one support to plan members on enrolment, contributions, investment options, tools, and general plan features.
- Support members in navigating their retirement and savings programs within regulatory and advisory boundaries.
- Respond to ongoing member inquiries promptly and professionally.
Collaboration & Consulting Support
- Partner with consultants, account managers, and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless member experience.
- Contribute to client engagement strategies and value‑added education initiatives.
- Stay up to date on Canadian retirement, benefits, and financial wellness trends, legislation, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Post‑secondary education in finance, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in retirement, benefits, financial education, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of Canadian workplace retirement and savings programs (Group RRSPs, DPSPs, DC pensions, etc.).
- Experience building and delivering presentations and facilitating group education sessions.
Must have, or be willing to obtain:
- CEBS Retirement Plans Associate (RPA).
- Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP).
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is considered an asset.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a car.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills (both in‑person and virtual).
- Professional, empathetic, and client‑service oriented.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with member platforms is an asset.
