EEOC Announces Opening of 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection

Oct 31, 2023, 05:00 by Ashley Schmidt
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced that the 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection is now open. The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, to submit demographic workforce data, including data by race/ethnicity, sex and job categories.

The EEOC has updated its data collection process with new webpages to assist filers:
  • EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection - website for the latest filing updates and additional information.
  • EEO-1 Online Filing System - to update requests with new information, terminate requests, track the status of requests, and find additional materials.
  • EEO-1 Component 1 Instruction Booklet - for filer support, consolidating existing support materials, including frequently asked questions and fact sheets into a single resource for filers and provides additional information to clarify eligibility and reporting requirements

The filing deadline for the 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 report is December 5, 2023.
