Are you a new trustee looking to get up to speed on the basics of trust management?

Attend the Foundations of Trust Management Standards (FTMS) program and get the knowledge you need to help ensure your plan’s success.

The first step in the Canadian trustee training path,  FTMS will help you understand the health and retirement needs of plan members while increasing your knowledge and awareness in the key areas of effective trust management: legal and regulatory issues, administration, governance and funding/investment/finance.

Benefits of Attending
  • Understand health and retirement needs of plan members.
  • Gain knowledge in trust operations, including health and welfare plan structure.
  • Learn about the increasing general concerns of regulators regarding the significance of health and welfare and pension trust management.
Who Should Attend
Newly appointed/elected multi-employer, public sector and corporate plan trustees, benefit office staff and individuals returning to trustee service after an extended absence. Also, potential trustees (as part of your succession planning), providers of service to trust fund plans and trustees of both pension and health and welfare trust funds.
Testing is Easy!

This course provides the necessary tools to fulfill your responsibilities as a trustee and earn your FTMS certificate. You'll have an opportunity to network and share experiences with other new trustees while gaining the need-to-know skills to succeed in your role. The open-book, multiple-choice exam gives you time to review your notes and find the correct answers. Don't be intimidated—Over 90% of attendees pass on their first attempt!

FTMS was very informative. The speakers knew their stuff and kept you engaged. I learned a lot that I will now use.
