Course FAQ

How do I complete a course?

First, you must review all of the lessons in the course. You will not be able to take the exam until this requirement is satisfied. When you are ready, you have two attempts to pass the final exam. Final exams range from 25 – 50 questions depending on the course. They are closed-book exams and you must earn a grade of 70% or higher to pass. If you requested insurance continuing education credit, make sure you know the testing requirements set by your state of licensure before you start the exam.

How are the courses developed?

Courses are written by subject matter experts and updated regularly to reflect industry changes. The interactive and self-paced courses include useful real-life applications, videos and infographics to help explain complex benefits issues.

How long will I have access to a course?

You will have online access to a course for six months after enrolling. The course will expire at the time you purchased the course on the final day.

What if I'm having trouble accessing my course?

Please ensure the browser you are using is the latest version of Chrome, latest Firefox, Safari 10 or higher, Microsoft Edge for Windows 10, or Internet Explorer 11.0 or higher. Other browsers may not be compatible. If one browser is not responding as you think it should, please try another.

If the problem only occurs with this course site or with one page on the course site, you may be encountering browser incompatibilities. Note that we use cookies and JavaScript on the site. Please make sure that these are enabled in your browser. Please also disable your pop-up blocker.

The course site is password-protected, which may cause a problem for some firewall settings. Please check with your IT department to assist you in rectifying this problem.

Will I receive anything to document my completion of the course?

Yes. After successfully passing the final exam with a score of at least 70%, you will be able to print a certificate of completion to document your learning.

What happens if I do not pass the course's final exam?

You are allowed two attempts to pass the final exam and earn your certificate of completion. After that, you will need to re-purchase the course.

How do I access my course after I purchase it?

Instructions will be emailed to you within 24 hours if purchased online. If you purchased your course over the phone or through a paper order form, you will be emailed instructions within 3-4 business days. If you've forgotten your password for log in, you can reset it here.

Can I purchase one course for multiple people in my office?

No. Each person in your organization will need to pay and register for a course. Each registration is linked to an individual's educational record allowing for CE/Recertification reporting, completion certificates and grades. See Team Training for group purchases.

How do I receive the member pricing?

All International Foundation and ISCEBS members are eligible for the discounted member price. Become a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and receive the member pricing and so much more!

What if I need to cancel my purchase?

If cancellation is made by email or phone within 48 hours of purchase and prior to accessing the e-learning course, we can provide a full refund. Cancellations must be requested by emailing [email protected] or calling (888) 334-3327 (U.S.) or (833) 886-3749 (Canada), option 3.

Can I get my access extended if I have not completed my course within 180 days?

Sorry, we are unable to grant course extensions for students. If your course expires you will need to repurchase it.

Why am I not able to access my final exam?

You must review every page of the course in order to access the final exam. Make sure every lesson has a full progress bar to indicate completion. Then return to the learning environment and refresh.

Instead of ordering online, can I purchase with a hard copy order form?

Yes, if you need to purchase with a paper order form, please use this form.

Certificate FAQ

How do I earn my certificate?

You must successfully complete the two required courses and one of the three elective courses to earn your certificate. When you purchase the certificate, you will get access to all three elective courses and may complete the two electives you do not choose if/when you want. Beginning with the date of purchase, you will have access to all of the courses for 180 days.

How long will it take me to complete the certificate?

Required and elective courses range in length. Shorter courses may take 1-3 hours to complete while longer courses may take 3-5 hours to complete. Depending on the courses you choose, expect to spend at least 10-15 uninterrupted hours completing this certificate.

When will I receive my certificate when I finish?

When you complete the two required courses and one elective course of your choice, you will receive a certificate via email within 24 hours. The certificate will be emailed to the address on file in your International Foundation profile.

How can I purchase this certificate for my team?

Can I earn a certificate if I’ve purchased these courses ala carte?

Yes, whether you purchase the courses individually or as a certificate bundle, you will receive a certificate upon successful completion of all required courses.
