Today, many more Canadian adults and children are receiving neurodivergent diagnoses, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, various learning disabilities (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia), etc. Employers who “lean-in” to their neurodiverse talent can tap into powerful skillsets and gain competitive advantages.

Unfortunately, organizational practices are often lacking in effective accommodation of neurodivergent employees, and many benefit plans also fail in this regard. Neglecting to incorporate these needs fuels stigma and impacts long-term well-being, workability and productivity.

Enabling more neuroinclusive practices is key and can create 30% more in productivity (Deloitte, 2022). Through firsthand experience infused with industry expertise, we’ll unpack:

  • The invisibility of neurodiversity and what it represents (misconceptions vs. truth)
  • How neurodiversity can appear in drug and Effective Health Care (EHC) program data
  • Gaps within the benefit journey and opportunities to strategically support neurodiverse workers’ needs.
