This program will provide practical knowledge and up-to-date information on legal and tax compliance issues for retirement plans during the merger and acquisition process. Plan administrators and human resources professionals must be prepared to meet all ERISA and IRS requirements for their retirement plans, including any updates from the SECURE 2.0 Act and more. In this two-hour training, instructors Katrina Veldkamp, J.D., and Jeffrey Penn, J.D., will lead attendees through critical issues, including types of merger and acquisition transactions and their impact on retirement benefits, due diligence issues, purchase agreement considerations, and post-closing transitions, readying attendees to face the challenges of navigating their retirement plansthroughout a merger or acquisition.
