Pension Administration Associate

Our team of actuaries and consultants advise clients and customize solutions for their actuarial, pension, and employee benefit needs.
Many companies you encounter every day are our clientele. We provide individual, and group pension consultation services to customize optimal strategies for employers. Our actuarial evidence department applies expertise in the form of legal evidence reports and general actuarial consulting.
As an applicant for the Pension Administration Associate position, you will ideally have already obtained or are working towards your Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designation. We are specifically looking for candidates that have passed or are taking relevant courses: RPA1, RPA2, GBA/RPA3 and/or have a minimum of two years of pension administration experience. Our ideal candidate will also have a passion for helping people, and view taking on any task or responsibility as an opportunity to learn, develop, and achieve outstanding results. In your present or previous position(s), others would describe your work as highly accurate, with an excellent track record for delivering work within established timelines and critical deadlines.
We are seeking a candidate with the following key attributes:
- Pursuing your RPA designation and have taken a minimum of one course, and/or
- Have a minimum of two years of pension administration experience,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and composition,
- Detail oriented with excellent proofreading skills,
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel,
- Willingness and commitment to learn and progress towards greater responsibilities,
- Strong initiative skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach,
- Strong organizational, time and client management skills,
- Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain integrity and respect client and Company confidentiality, and
- Self-motivated and fun to work with!
The compensation is negotiable and will be based on your education and relevant experience, including a base salary and bonus. Your total remuneration package will increase as your responsibilities and ability to work independently grow. Your role will provide support services within our pension departments and may include the following responsibilities:
- Prepare plan implementation, amendment, retirement, and termination packages,
- Perform calculations for group and individual pension plans, for purposes of retirement, termination, and death,
- Calculate member PA and PAR adjustments,
- Prepare annual plan member statements,
- Collect data and compile for drafting of actuarial valuation reports,
- Prepare reports and draft correspondence to support senior pension consultants,
- Complete annual information returns and pension plan regulatory filings,
- Liaise and maintain effective working networks with clients, their advisors and consultants, governing authorities, and colleagues,
- Attending and participating in team meetings,
- General administrative work including scanning, document file management and database updates, and
- Providing ongoing feedback for improvements and efficiencies.
