Pension Department Manager

Growing third party administrator of employee benefit funds is seeking a Pension Department Manager for our Oak Brook, IL office. We are seeking candidates interested in working in a fast-paced environment specializing in Trust benefit administration to fill a full-time position. The Pension Department Manager position should have expertise in both defined benefit and defined contribution retirement multi-employer plans.

This is a senior level position which requires 5+ years in retirement plan administration experience.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Managing new client conversions and plan mergers
  • Coordinating with plan auditors and preparing audit support
  • Managing plan amendments, including implementation and testing
  • Reviewing actuarial data
  • Performing complex benefit calculations
  • Conducting 401(k) nondiscrimination testing
  • Handling escalated participant calls requiring supervisor support
  • Reviewing processed applications for accuracy

Requirements:

  • College diploma
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple projects within established deadline
  • Experience with Taft-Hartley labor union retirement plans is a plus
