Get up to speed on how and why an employer may sponsor a health plan for its employees and their beneficiaries. Two required e-learning courses will outline the various ways to structure a group health plan, as well as the laws and regulations that affect them. Then choose between three elective e-learning courses that cover plan funding and ancillary health benefits that plan sponsors may offer.

Following the successful completion of an online certificate in employee benefits fundamentals, students will be able to apply their knowledge in the field and gain valuable experience. Students will also be well-prepared to further apply their learning by attending face-to-face International Foundation programs and earning their Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.

Upon enrolling in the Fundamentals in Health Benefits certificate, you will get access to five e-learning courses. To earn the certificate, you must complete two required courses and one elective course of your choice. You will retain access to the remaining two elective courses that you don’t choose to complete if/when you want.

Take one elective course to earn the certificate, but get access to all three and complete the remaining two courses if/when you want.

Each of the required and elective courses included in the Fundamentals certificates may qualify for CEBS continuing education credit (CE).

Additionally, courses may be approved for HRCI, SHRM or insurance continuing education credit. Additional credits may be available for other various designations.
