Doug Nistetter is the Houston market leader, a senior vice president and a consulting actuary with the health solutions practice of Aon in Houston, Texas. He serves as a lead actuary and account executive, ensuring that all Houston clients receive excellent service from Aon. Nistetter has been involved with a team of actuaries working to use nonstandard tools and resources to analyze client data, leading to actionable activities that can increase efficiency and create savings for employer-sponsored health plans. In his role as lead actuary, he is responsible for all financial analysis related to self-funded health plans, including projected costs, reserve estimates, financial impact of plan changes and reporting. Prior to joining Aon, he spent time at Ernst & Young and a competing consulting firm. His experiences include actuarial pricing, benefit design, vendor management and financial modeling related to health care reform. He also has significant experience with actuarial valuations of retiree medical plans, mergers and acquisitions, benefits administration and human resources transformation. Nistetter earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Texas A&M University. He became an associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries in 2010. Nistetter also holds a General Lines Agent license for life, accident and health in Texas.
