Karen Scattergood has been with Spitfire Communications since it began in 2008 and has over 15 years of experience in employee communications. Her career began in Japan where she lived and worked as an English teacher and developed a love for helping people understand challenging topics by adapting them to a more palatable and user-friendly format. That experience, along with her education in English and a love for marketing, brought Scattergood to Spitfire, where she assists companies of all sizes and across all industries to transform their employee experience. Always fond of a good spreadsheet, total compensation statements remain her favorite communication tool but she revels in strategic planning and a multimedia approach. She gets excited about employee websites, innovative mailers and videos. Her clients enjoy creative communication plans that result in an increase in wellness engagement, EAP utilization, 401(k) match maximization and more informed employees. Scattergood earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
