International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy for Content Creators and Content Receivers

This policy is in place for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and its affiliates (Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, Inc.; International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists; IFEBP Services, LLC; Wellness Alliance—collectively, “Foundation”).

In order to protect the Foundation’s brand and intellectual property, all Users of Foundation copyrighted content/materials are strictly prohibited from feeding any Foundation content, in whole or part, into any generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems (ChatGPT, Bing, Bard, etc.) without prior written approval from the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The term “User” shall include both Content Creators and Content Receivers. “Content Creators” include, without limitation, instructors and speakers. “Content Receivers” include, without limitation, learners, registrants, and members. “Content” shall include all curriculum-based course, conference and CEBS materials, and all e-learning content. This includes, but is not limited to, books, program booklets, videos and PowerPoint presentations.

Content Creators who engage with the Foundation are responsible to ensure that any AI-generated content aligns with the Foundation’s values, ethics, quality standards, and any other applicable policies. All Users of generative AI must notify the Foundation any time AI, language-model, image- or sound-generation tools are used to create content for Foundation use. This notification should include a clear description of the content that was created, along with the name of the model or tool, version and extension numbers, and manufacturer. The notification is to be included in a cover statement when materials are submitted.

Content Receivers who purchase physical content or have access to digital content from the Foundation are responsible for ensuring that in the course of their use of the materials, none are used and/or inputted, in whole or part, within any generative AI system.

All Users must always comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing intellectual property, privacy and data protection, and other relevant areas. Unauthorized use of copyrighted material or creation of copyrighted content that infringes on the intellectual property of others is strictly prohibited.

Any suspected or confirmed errors, breaches, or violations of this policy, including but not limited to security incidents and discovery of inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content related to generative AI usage should be immediately reported to the Foundation’s CEO and/or the lead of the area in question. All Users agree to cooperate with corrective measures the Foundation may deem necessary to mitigate or rectify such events and their consequences.
